Welcome to our service

These services are available for people with specialist palliative care needs. Priscilla Bacon Lodge is also known as Priscilla Bacon Hospice.

Our team of specialist nurses and therapists provide end of life and palliative care. This includes nursing, medical care, and therapies such as physiotherapy and occupational therapy.

At Priscilla Bacon Lodge, we have 24 patient beds:

  • 16 beds for consultant-led specialist palliative care.
  • 8 beds for nurse-led continuing health care fast-track beds

Patients admitted to Priscilla Bacon Lodge with specialist palliative care needs may need:

  • a period of assessment
  • symptom control
  • treatment for acute reversible conditions
  • psychological support
  • end-of-life care

Iron IV Drip

Intravenous (IV) iron therapy

Intravenous (IV) iron is an infusion of iron directly into your bloodstream. We use it to treat iron deficiency and anaemia.

Referral

We accept referrals for these services from healthcare professionals. If you are in palliative care in Norfolk, speak to your healthcare provider about a referral.

For advice about referrals and requests for admission, call 0330 158 8011 and select option 1 (advice for health and social care professionals).

Eligibility

We will consider referrals for patients who:

  • require support from a specialist multi-disciplinary palliative care team
  • needs cannot be met adequately in their current place of care or within their own home

Patients can be admitted for inpatient care if they require:

  • complex symptom management
  • rehabilitation
  • help with complex psych-social problems
  • end of life care

Priscilla Bacon Hospice Charity

The Priscilla Bacon Hospice Charity provide several wellbeing services that enrich patient care. These include:

  • music therapy
  • complementary therapies like massages, aromatherapy, reflexology and reiki
  • beautiful gardens
  • enhanced catering
