COPD health education and support training (CHEST)
A monthly interactive patient education group for people to learn more about their COPD and how to best self-manage this. It is held at the Luton Treatment Centre in groups of no more than 10 people. CHEST is an education session with group activities to learn more about living and managing COPD. The training is a one day course. It is suitable for anyone who has a diagnosis of COPD.
Pulmonary rehabilitation
This is an evidence-based multidisciplinary exercise and education programme for people with a chronic lung disease or issues with breathing. It is highly recommended by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE). It can be helpful for a variety of respiratory diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, bronchiectasis and pulmonary fibrosis. The exercises are individually tailored to you, so that everyone can participate and gain the benefits.
