Your health and wellbeing

We have build a culture that nurtures wellbeing and more fulfilling careers. Many of our staff choose to go the extra mile to deliver exceptional care. We understand that this can affect you physically and emotionally. At our Trust, we take care of ourselves and each other.

Occupational health and wellbeing services are available when you need them. They provide quick and easy access to help you with work-related mental and physical injury and illness.

If you are unwell, we will support you to get the help you need. Take time to recover and return to work at your own pace.

Health and wellbeing champions

Our health and wellbeing champions are volunteers from across the Trust. They promote and signpost colleagues to health and wellbeing support offers. Health and wellbeing champions complete initial training to help prepare them for the role. Ongoing training is available through the National Health and Wellbeing Champions Network.

Flexible working

We want our staff to enjoy a healthy work-life balance. Every member of staff has the right to request flexible working from the first day of their employment.

Our flexible working practices include:

  • 9 day fortnight
  • Job share
  • Term time only
  • Compressed hours
  • Bank working

Employment passport

The employment passport is a confidential document. Any member of staff can have an employment passport. It will only be given to people who need to know about your adjustments.

The passport will:

  • make sure your agreed adjustments are clear
  • reduce the need to reassess adjustments if there is a change in line manager
  • form the basis of a revised passport if an individual changes jobs or location which impacts on the adjustment they require
  • record of the agreed adjustments for regular discussion and review

An employment passport can be particularly helpful for people who have:

  • caring responsibilities
  • health conditions or disabilities
  • neurodiversity
  • religious beliefs
  • cultural differences

Career progression

At our Trust, we offer several progression routes to help you achieve your personal goals. We provide access to professional development courses, certifications and hands on training.

We offer opportunities to advance while enjoying the unique benefits of community-based roles. These include meaningful patient relationships, making your own decisions and having a healthier work-life balance.
