Norfolk Specialist Palliative Care Inpatient Service (Priscilla Bacon Lodge)
Our service for people who have complex palliative care needs including physical, emotional, social and/or spiritual needs. It is a short-stay unit.
Specialist palliative care nurses and health care assistants provide intensive 24-hour care, which is supported by specialist palliative care doctors and a multi-disciplinary team who assess and review symptom control and goals daily.
Visiting times are 8am to midday and 3pm to 8pm.
Complimentary therapies are offered to patients and close relatives/carers as appropriate, including massage, aromatherapy, reiki and music therapy.

Referral
We accept referrals from healthcare and social care professionals.
For advice about referrals and requests for admission, call 0330 158 8011 and select option 1 (advice for health and social care professionals).
Eligibility
We will consider referrals for patients who:
- require support from a specialist multi-disciplinary palliative care team
- needs cannot be met adequately in their current place of care or within their own home
Patients can be admitted for inpatient care if they require:
- complex symptom management
- rehabilitation
- help with complex psych-social problems
- end of life care
