Over Two Hundred New Inpatient Beds Delivered and Installed

Over the past few months 201 new beds have been successfully delivered and installed across the organisation.

Following a procurement exercise involving clinical staff, Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC), Manual Handling, Procurement, and Clinical Engineering, we have now selected and rolled out a new make and model of bed for some of our inpatient units.

This has been a significant logistical effort, requiring close coordination between Clinical Engineering, our bed supplier Montcalm, and Nursing and Therapy teams, Housekeeping, Porters, and G4S.

At each site staff worked together to ensure patients were safely supported out of bed, new beds moved into place, cleaned, and remade. This was often completed within an impressive 2–3 hour window. This level of teamwork and precision meant minimal disruption for patients and a smooth transition to the new equipment.

This was a major undertaking and it was executed exceptionally well. Every team involved deserves a huge thank you for their hard work, flexibility, and commitment to improving patient comfort and care.
