New service launches to improve sexual health and wellbeing in Norfolk

A new service to help people make informed choices about their sexual health and relationships is launching in Norfolk today (3 August 2026).

Norfolk Sexual Health Outreach and Prevention will provide information and guidance that help people stay well and access support before problems arise. They will also support with condom provision, including the C-Card scheme, and chlamydia testing.

While they will work with people across the county, they will have a particular focus on communities who are at higher risk or less likely to use traditional sexual health services. The team will also work closely with voluntary organisations, education providers, community groups, health partners and local services to take information and support directly into communities.

The service includes a new dedicated website www.norfolkshop.nhs.uk which provides:

• Sexual health and wellbeing information
• Healthy relationships advice
• HIV prevention information
• Contraception information
• Sexually transmitted infection (STI) prevention guidance
• Information about local support services
• Resources for communities and professionals

The service is commissioned by Norfolk County Council's public health team and is delivered by East of England Community Health and Care NHS Trust, which also provides the county's Integrated Contraception and Sexual Health (iCaSH) service. While iCaSH focuses on clinical sexual health services and treatment, Norfolk Sexual Health Outreach and Prevention will focus on prevention, education, engagement and early intervention. The new service builds on work previously delivered iCaSH.
