East of England Community Health and Care NHS Trust approved for prospective Advanced Foundation Trust status

Having been one of the first providers in the country to be selected as part of the Advanced Foundation Trust Programme, today’s announcement provides national recognition of the high-quality care, strong leadership and sustainable services delivered by teams across the communities East of England Community Health and Care NHS Trust serves.
 
The Government's 10 Year Health Plan sets out the ambition to reinvigorate and reinvent the foundation trust model for a modern, integrated health system. The Advanced Foundation Trust Programme incentivises good performance, giving capable boards of high-performing providers more freedom to respond to the needs of their communities and deliver improved care.

Matthew Winn, Chief Executive of East of England Community Health and Care NHS Trust, said: "Achieving prospective Advanced Foundation Trust status is a big moment for our Trust. It places us among a small group of NHS organisations nationally that have demonstrated the highest standards of quality, leadership, governance and improvement.

Clare Panniker, Regional Director for NHS England in the East of England said: "This is great news for local patients and the wider East of England region. There are only a handful across the country, which shows that getting Advanced Foundation Trust status only comes through hard work and great patient service. This accreditation is testament to all of the leadership and staff who work at the Trust."
