Updates
East of England Community Health and Care NHS Trust is pleased to announce that Dr Catherine Schunmann has been appointed Head of the National Postgraduate School of Community Sexual and Reproductive Health (CSRH).
The appointment follows national deanery interviews and will see Dr Schumann take on a key leadership role supporting Community Sexual and Reproductive Health training programmes across England.
The National Postgraduate School of CSRH is hosted by NHS England's East of England office and plays a vital role in the education, training and development of future specialists working in sexual and reproductive healthcare.
Dr Schunmann is currently CSRH Training Programme Director for the East of England and a Consultant in Sexual and Reproductive Health at East of England Community Health and Care NHS Trust.
Dr Catherine Schunmann said: “Women need accessible, flexible and personalised reproductive healthcare throughout their lives. A National School of Community Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare is an essential component of ensuring that highly skilled consultants are available to lead and support multidisciplinary teams providing that care in a rapidly changing world. It is a privilege to be a part of the development of tomorrow's consultants, and this role is an opportunity to use my experience to continue to support and encourage the next generation of specialists.”
The Trust warmly congratulates Dr Schunmann on her appointment and looks forward to continuing to work with her in her new national role. Her expertise, leadership and commitment to training make her exceptionally well placed to support the development of Community Sexual and Reproductive Health services and education across England.
Colleagues across the Trust, particularly within the iCaSH (Integrated Contraception and Sexual Health) service, are proud to see one of their clinical leaders recognised through this important appointment.
Dr Schunmann will transition into the role over the coming months.
