Safe Staffing Levels
Since the publication of the Francis Report, in response to the Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust Public Inquiry, a commitment to publish nurse staffing levels for all NHS organisations has been implemented.
EEC is committed to ensuring that levels of nursing staff, including registered nurses and healthcare support workers, are appropriate for the acuity and dependency needs of patients within our inpatient units, in order to provide safe and effective care.
We are contracted to publish this information on a monthly basis and the Trust Board receives this information on a monthly basis through our Quality and Risk Reports.
Staffing on our inpatient units
Each inpatient unit displays a 'staffing status' board which shows the planned and actual numbers of staff on shift each day. These boards are positioned where they can be clearly seen by patients, visitors, and staff. They show who is in charge of the shift that day and when the board was last updated.
